Hello all, I've played Warzone 2100 on and off over the years but it's been a while since the last time and I see there's been some big updates so I hope you can help me out with a few questions I have.
From what I've picked up from browsing the forums and here cannons seem to be considered pretty useless in campaign. Is that still the case, and are any of the later game cannons effective or are you always better off with Lancers?
I'm really struggling to get my head around mobile artillery. When I attach a group of mortars or bombards to a sensor tank I understand how it's supposed to work but I dislike the way that the artillery follows at such a huge distance, it seems to cause all kinds of pathing issues and is very awkward to get them into the right position. Is there something I'm doing wrong?
Still on artillery, am I right in thinking that all of the artillery experience only goes to the attached sensor? If so that's pretty annoying, it means I have one very vulnerable tank with all the xp that leaves my artillery tanks without any. I feel like I'd be better off not attaching them to a sensor and instead being a bit more micro-intensive to get the most out of them.
What exactly does experience improve and by how much?
Which do you prefer, half-tracks or tracks? I usually love having big heavy units that can take a lot of punishment but I've found that faster tanks can manoeuvre around each other much more efficiently for when they need to get repaired.
Are flamers worth it? I abandoned them pretty quick to begin with and haven't looked back.
Thanks in advance if you can answer any or all of these, I have very fond memories of playing this game and thanks to the efforts of the team keeping it alive it still holds up really well.
Edit: Added question 6
